How To Install LongoMatch 0.20.8 “New Age” On Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 And Derivative Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, LongoMatch is a sport video analysis tool for coaches and sports enthusiasts, to help them create video analysis. Via some intuitive tools for tagging, reviewing and editing plays are easy tasks.

Also, the plays can be grouped into categories, the lead and lag time of each play frame by frame being adjustable, and the software supports playlists.

The latest version available is LongoMatch 0.20.8 “New Age”, which has been released a while ago, coming with the below changes:

  • Fix memory leak rendering files with long preroll times
  • Fix exception rendering plays with drawings when the no screenshot is taken
  • Fix focus bug in the filters
  • Fix filenames for autorendering plays

how to install LongoMatch 0.20.8

In this article I will show you how to install LongoMatch 0.20.8 “New Age” on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0 and other Ubuntu derivative systems.

Because it is available via PPA, installing LongoMatch 0.20.8 “New Age” on Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the needed ppas to your system, update the local repository index and install the gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and longomatch packages. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ylatuya/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg longomatch

Optional, to remove longomatch, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg longomatch
